      Founded in 2017 by Dorothy Woods, Where Glams Come True has come a long way from it's beginnings in Chicago, Illinois. Beginning with a passion in the hair industry, Dorothy first completed Cosmetology School Spring of 2012. Shortly after, as a hobby and past time, she began plus modeling. Being a single mother of two boys, Dorothy could not always afford makeup services for every booked fashion show or photo shoot. This pushed her to begin practicing on herself and in return how she became the talented and skillful self taught makeup artist that she is today.

      Although Dorothy never imagined working on others, being in the right place at the right time (and with a push from the right people) helped her land her first paid gig as a makeup artist for Miki Riley and her Accessory Me Fashion Show. Not only did Dorothy land her first paid gig, but she was trusted to provide makeup services for the host of the event: Radio Personality and Chicago's very own 106.3 Co-Host, Lady Red. This sparked a new passion and drove her to become the striving makeup artist and business woman that she is today!
